Love Bites is A Man of the Month novella by Katie Rae.

Synopsis
Spending time in the mountains is the last thing this city girl wants.
I’m smart, well-educated, and have a job most would kill for.
But I do not belong in the mountains, especially alone.
How dare my boss send me out there to work for a month.
If he wasn’t also my best friend, I would have quit.
However, I sucked it up and locked the doors, praying the sexy, maybe-ax murderer, that lived in the cabin next door, would spare me.
I was determined to keep my distance until I heard him having sex.
Curiosity got the best of me, and I made my way through the woods to watch.
That was when everything got worse–the mosquitos swarmed, I panicked, and he caught me looking.
Embarrassment caused me to do some crazy things.
And he was there to witness it all.
I wished he would have just killed me.
Instead, we just got closer, making me rethink my stance that love totally bites.

Review
Okay! This books MC, Gabriel, reminded me of that guy on tiktok that chops wood...if you know, you know. And if you can imagine the things he says in those videos and our FMC hearing that at a distance. Let the awkwardness and hilarity begin.
"I went to the woods because I heard you telling it to open up and I wanted to see who you were opening."
Audrey has the perfect amount of awkwardness and an amazing ability to put herself in the most embarassing situations. Gabriel's reaction to these moments is even more adorable.
I know that this was a novella but I wish that we didn't have to fast forward through what seemed to be the deeper moments. I felt like a page was used to summarize them actually getting to know each other outside of the rom-com.
By the end of the night with Gabriel, I had transformed into someone else. Not completely, but I felt like I had the world at my fingertips. That I could make choices like he did, to put myself first and find who I was really meant to be.
If you're looking for a sweet, sexy, funny, short read, this is it.
Notable Hightlights
...never happen in romance books. Women weren't attracted to killers. Oh shit, yes, they were.
"Whatever. I still had to use Buzz after I left the woods beccause you sounded good going at it with Woody." "Buzz?" I knew before she confirmed, but I didn't know what else to do. "Bzzzzz," she added before being more blunt. "My tits and clits extraordinaire machine."
Love bites, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. That just means that the mosquitoes haven't found you yet.
