Synopsis

Shattered trust, twisted games, and ugly truths …

A female initiate is unheard of at Hawthorne Hall, but after forcing the brotherhood’s hand, they had no choice but to let me stay. My plan should have been simple: Find out what happened to my cousin and best friend in the world, Will.

But nothing is as it seems.

This brotherhood is steeped in tradition and built on loyalty, but the deeper I dig, the more I see fissures in their supposedly tight-knit group. And with the evidence I’ve found, every move I make seems more dangerous than the last. I no longer know who to trust.

Cannon.

Archer.

Kingston.

I don’t want to believe they’re guilty or that they could have harmed Will. But there’s only one way to find out—immerse myself in their world and keep my mouth shut. And hope they don’t break my heart along the way.

The games continue … but who is being played?

Review

I was so excited for Cannon after reading Kingston and let me tell you… Leila James? SHE DELIVERED. I couldn't put this book down. There was so much character development in this book.

Cannon was my favorite character in the first book, and I fell in love with him even more.

"You make me feel safe. I think you'd burn down the world to protect me."

But the development with the other characters has me just obsessed with all of them now. And the masquerade, it had me on the edge of my seat!

Be prepared for overprotective alpha-holes, plot twists and another cliffhanger! I need the next book 😭

“You are ours. No one touches you without our permission. No one tries to harm you without facing consequences. No one. Got it?”

Notable Highlights

Our girl is a fucking diamond--beautiful to look at, but impossible to crush.

I want to take. Possess. Claim. Make her mine.

“I know you won’t hurt me. You can be yourself. Give me everything.”
